Large pub in this picturesque village at the northern end of Ullswater.
Straightforward pub grub available, large beer garden at side and rear of building with plenty tables and benches. Small front bar, dining room and a back bar with a large TV.

Took the steamer from Glenridding and after a pleasant, hour-long chug along Ullswater, we arrived at Pooley Bridge. I made a bee-line for the Sun Inn after a tempting review in the CAMRA beer guide, I was not disappointed.
My good lady wife had a pint of Golden Host and a half of the Cocker Hoop. I had two pints of the Sneck Lifter, I was going to have something different for my 2nd but the Sneck was so amazingly tasty I had to have another.
Very well kept and served beer.
We also had lunch. The meal was from the bar menu and was quite good, I can recommend the Jennings and Steak pie.
