Description
[Edit]New pub, opened in 2005 on the site of the former John Dickinson Paper Mill. It is alongside the grand Union Canal, and the large outdoor seating area is right next to the canal. Inside, the bar area is large and L-shaped, with tables and chairs and also sofas. Restaurant upstairs. I had the guest beer, which was Okell's bitter when I visited. It was well-presented, cool but not cold. 8 hand-pumps, 4 real ales - two pumps to each. Rather expensive - Okell's bitter £2.95 a pint. Extensive (and expensive) bar menu. Kitchen visible from bar, which is always reassuring.
